Wetwheels Foundation
The Wetwheels Foundation is dedicated to providing fully accessible boating experiences to disabled individuals across the UK. Founded by Geoff Holt MBE, the foundation operates a growing fleet of specially adapted powerboats designed to enable people of all ages and abilities to get out on the water. Unlike many accessible activities that focus on passive observation, Wetwheels offers an interactive experience where participants can take the helm, learn about navigation, and enjoy the open sea firsthand.
With multiple locations around the UK, including Edinburgh, Hamble, Jersey, Portsmouth (Wetwheel Solent), South East, South West, Torbay, Yorkshire Wetwheels ensures that more people than ever have the opportunity to experience the physical and emotional benefits of being at sea. Thousands of individuals, families, and community groups have already taken part in Wetwheels experiences, gaining confidence, independence, and joy in a truly inclusive environment.

Projects & initiatives
The Wetwheels Foundation is continuously expanding its reach and impact through a variety of projects and initiatives:
Expanding the Fleet
Wetwheels is working to increase the number of fully accessible powerboats across the UK, ensuring that more disabled individuals can experience the freedom of the water. Each new vessel is designed to accommodate wheelchair users, providing easy access and adapted controls.
Community Programmes
The foundation partners with local schools, care organisations, and disability groups to provide tailored experiences that support wellbeing, education, and inclusion.
Wetwheels Experiences
In addition to regular trips, Wetwheels offers specialised experiences such as sea angling, heritage tours, and marine education days, helping participants engage with the sea in unique and meaningful ways.
Veterans & Rehabilitation Support
Wetwheels provides trips specifically designed for veterans and individuals recovering from injury or trauma, using the power of the sea to aid mental and physical rehabilitation.

Support & Partnerships
Wetwheels Foundation relies on the generosity of individuals, businesses, and organisations to continue delivering life-changing experiences. There are many ways to support the mission:
Corporate partnerships
Businesses can sponsor a boat and fund experiences for disabled participants. Find out more about our current partners here.
Fundraising & donations
Contributions, whether through one-off donations, monthly giving, or fundraising events, help keep Wetwheels experiences free or affordable for those who need them most.
Volunteering opportunities
From helping crew boats to assisting with outreach and fundraising, volunteers are the backbone of the foundation’s work.

I never thought I would be able to go on a boat again after my accident. Wetwheels not only made it possible but gave me back a sense of adventure and independence.

The smile on my daughter’s face said it all. She has complex needs, and this was the first time she had ever been able to take part in an activity like this. The staff were incredible, and the experience was magical.
