Thank you everyone for you kind words and best wishes.  Despite the superstition of Friday 13th, it was a day of nerves, excitement, but above all, pride, to carry the Olympic flame through Swanage.  I got to meet some amazing and inspiring fellow torchbearers but the real stars were the people, thousands of them, who turned out to cheer us on.  Swange did itself proud.  It was all over far too quickly, 300 metres was just enough to do a few 360 degree spins in my wheelchair and to soak up the amazing atmosphere.  I’ve seen the build up on the TV and in the press, but this was an opportunity to see and hear, first hand, how it is touching people all over the country, even in remote parts of Dorset.  Thank you to Dame Ellen for nominating me.  Bring on the Games.
